Coach Carl Poe

Coach poe has trained many local youth, ms, hs and collegiate sport athletes and developed periodized-training programs for sport athletes for over nineteen years.  His program design takes into consideration the needs analysis of the individual/athlete:  Biomechanics, physiology, and injury rate of the sport.  Also making sure that the program design relates to the off-season, pre-season and in-season thus maximizing performance and reducing risk of overuse injuries.
Carl received his Masters Degree in Exercise Science in 1991 from Appalachian State University. He then served as an intern designing strength & conditioning programs for athletes at the United States Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Carl also worked as a Sport Physiology Research Assistant for the USOTC assisting with physical performance testing and evaluations of elite athletes.
He was responsible for Strength, Power and Conditioning programs for Summer and Winter Olympic athletes for the Barcelona and Albertville Olympic Games. Mr. Poe has been responsible for strength & conditioning program design and implementation for developmental, junior elite, elite and professional athletes in many athletic populations including: Basketball, Baseball, Football, Volleyball, Soccer,Track and Field and Motor Sports/Drivers and Pit Crew.
Carl competed in Basketball and Baseball while at CE Jordan High School in Durham and was a Scholarship Baseball player at UNC at Pembroke. Coach Poe is a Member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), Basketball Strength Coaches Special Interest Group and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA.

Caleb Martin - American professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the NC State Wolfpack and the Nevada Wolf Pack. He is the twin brother of Cody Martin. He was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year for the 2017–18 season by the league's coaches.
 
Cody Lee Martin - professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Nevada Wolf Pack. He is the twin brother of Caleb Martin. He was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in the second round of the 2019 NBA draft.
Azurá Breeona Stevens - professional basketball player for the Chicago Sky of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Stevens played collegiately for the Duke Blue Devils and the Connecticut Huskies. She was drafted with the 6th overall pick in the 2018 WNBA draft by the Dallas Wings.
